We started Pokehana in 2016 to share our love of food with the rest of Louisville. Every slice of sushi-grade fish and each bite of high-quality ingredients are prepared using over 30 years of sushi and restaurant expertise. You have the freedom to create your own poke bowl with a variety of bases, veggies, proteins, toppings, and homemade sauces to create the perfect combination. Our Story
Pokehana started with chef Sang Lee, who was head chef at Benihana for over 25 years. He went on to start his own restaurants focused on hibachi and sushi. Between dazzling with his knife skills and entertaining countless families and parties, Mr. Lee developed over 35 years of restaurant and sushi expertise.
Traces of this history can be found in all of our homemade sauces. Each sauce was developed over time by Mr. Lee himself, to create the perfect finish that brings each bowl to life. Those who have tried Mr. Lee’s sauces know that you can’t find the same anywhere else.
It’s not just the professional history that goes into each bowl. We also infuse each dish with Mrs. Lee’s home-cooked sensibilities to create a unique marriage of quality and soul in every bite. Our poke bowls are influnced by the Lee’s stories, making them truly one-of-a-kind.
